Stormers captain Jean de Villiers respects the Sharks’ midfield, but he is very glad that Gcobani Bobo is now playing in his side.
Bobo, who played rugby in Durban last year, had a good game in the Stormers jersey in the defeat to the Bulls at Newlands on Saturday.
Stephen Nell of Die Burger writes that De Villiers said: “Gcobani did very well on Saturday. It was a real loss to the Sharks when he decided to come to Cape Town to play rugby here, but he’s presence is a real bonus for us.”
De Villiers and Bobo can still become a very good centre pairing, but they will have to be alert in Durban on Saturday.
The Sharks have Brad Barritt and Waylon Murray and they have played together for a number of seasons.
Coach Dick Muir also confirmed that he would start with French player Frederic Michalak at flyhalf.
De Villiers said: “I’ve played against Michalak a couple of times. He has very good hands and feet, but he can also make mistakes. We must put him under pressure.”
De Villiers said the Stormers would have to cope with the weather in Durban if they want to beat the Sharks.
“The humidity will definitely be a factor, but there are ways and means to compromise,” said De Villiers.Tweet
