I was impressed with Michalak. player well and did nothing wrong. Didn’t do anything spectacular but that will come with time. just a good solid showing by him.

Can’t say the same for Bloem though. Think I should stay away from there – we always lose when I go there. No game in Bloem this year for us thank goodness.

Brent has also been doing well for Saracens. The other week when I watched the game he scored 2 tries. Nice to see him playing full games with no pressure on him. A different person. Also playing under wet, heavy conditions which everyone said he couldn’t do.

Russell I still have to be convinced a bit.

even though I am suggesting that Ruan move to 15 i fear he may go the same way as Russell if he doesn’t find a spot soon. Russels problem (through no fault of his own) was that he kept moving about, 10, 11, 14, 15. If he had settled in a spot he may have had more success in SA

  • I feel that Jack also ruined Brent – carting him around with the Bok squad while never intending to play him. He has also messed with Ruan. They mustn’t move him around – he seems to have lost a bit of his mojo.

Butch was awesome. He is such a pleasure to watch.

Really enjoyed watching Trevor Halstead playing for Munster the last 2 years. Believe he has retired – and he is still so young.

  • penalty on the 5m line to the lions

run the ball wide left and it gets stolen by the blues

    they kick up field

Joe runs it back and actually looks like he has a bit more speed than he showed earlier.

    forced into touch

wrt Trevor, I was also pretty diappointed. I read an article last year in which he said he had max another or so in him, and was looking forward to the next chapter of his life. He also mentioned the possibility of playing for the Sharks one last season…now that would have been the perfect way for him to end his career. Maybe he approached Rudi & the contracting team, who knows? maybe with Brad, Frans, Andries & Adi they thought they had sufficient cover…& maybe just maybe ‘ol Frederic broke the budget?

  • Quin – I suppose the Sharks felt they didn’t need another 12. I thought he was great though. Believe he has gone home to the south coast to the family business and to get married. He got engaged while he was overseas to a South African girl.

I would be interested to know though whether he approached the Sharks because he always said he would like another season with them.
