The Vodacom Bulls’ fullback Zane Kirchner has been suspended for two weeks following his spear tackle on Dusty Noble but Bakkies Botha was found not guilty.

The BBRU reports that that means Kirchner will not fly to Australasia with the team on Saturday night but coach Frans Ludeke has decided not to take a replacement in Kirchner’s place.

The rest of the squad that was named earlier the week will thus remain unchanged.

Good news for the Bulls is that Derick Kuün was declared fit for the tour after he injured his ribs against the Lions and the team doctor Tommie Smook gave the captain Fourie du Preez the green light following his hand injury.

Tour group:

Backs: Bryan Habana, Akona Ndungane, Danwel Demas, JP Nel, Wynand Olivier, Stephan Dippenaar, Derick Hougaard, Morné Steyn, Fourie du Preez ©, Heini Adams, Francois Hougaard.

Forwards :P edrie Wannenburg, Wikus van Heerden, Danie Rossouw, Hilton Lobberts, Deon Stegmann, Dewald Potgieter, Bakkies Botha , Wilhelm Steenkamp, Rayno Gerber, Gurthro Steenkamp, Werner Kruger, Dean Greyling, Derick Kuün, James van der Walt.

  • He’s a centre. I think they will need to try Steyn at fullback

  • I’d be sneaky and have Habs @ 15… rarely get’s the ball at wing anyways, Olivier would be better there… he doesn’t have to pass as much…

  • Possible, I guess. As a stopgap. I don’t think olivier is good enough to play anywhere in this competition, but that’s just me
