Bolla’s tour is over

Another Stormers player has had to return from the Antipodean tour.

Scrumhalf Bolla Conradie injured his calf in the Stormers impressive victory over the Chiefs in Hamilton last Friday. Conradie will be out of action for around 10 days, so will not be available for the matches against the Blues this weekend, or the Force the week after. Hooker Tiaan Liebenberg has already flow home from the tour.

Impressive u21 scrumhalf Conrad Hoffman is on his way to meet up with the team in Auckland, where he will no doubt come straight onto the bench to serve as Ricky Januarie’s understudy for the crunch game. Hoffman is only 20 years old and is a product of Paarl Boy’s High in the Boland.

He played Craven Week for Western Province in 2005 and is currently a student at Stellenbosch University. Hoffman is uncapped at Super Rugby level.

  • Didn’t he play a few CC matches for WP?

I also somehow remember some rave reviews about him.

  • Interesting you say he is only 20 years old – one forgets that young Francois is only 20 at the moment. He seems to have been around for so long already.

  • If that’s the case then Rassie must have a lot of confidence in the guy to bring him from injury staright into S14 debut.

  • Looking forward to Pat coming back into the side. Just as he was starting to shine – picked up that injury. Pity – it is going to be hard for him to get back into the squad.

  • That’s why he must go play Super 14 for the Stormers, Ness. With Deon back, we already have 4 top props in our squad

  • Hoffman can also kick at goal.

He played SA U19 the last two years if i’m not mistaken.

I was hoping Delport got an opportunity but i think WP rugby knows that if they lose Hoffman they will regret it big time…

  • Know conrad quite well. Think if he can get a change he’ll took it with both hands. Not only do he have a quick pass but also a very good boot. Also a very good goal kicker. I actually thought at some stage during the Stormers trials and warm ups Dewaldt Duvenhage, now SA U20 and Boland and X Paarl Gimmie passed Conrad on the Stormers ranking. He is also a very good scrummie. These two played each other at interschools three years back.

  • I have a question, why was utility back Dylan Des Fountain sent back as well? On the Stormers pages the coach says he sustained a concussion during practice. Are there degrees of concussions? If he has been sent home does that mean it was a bad concussion?
