What with travel and some other hiccoughs, this is a little bit late, Nevertheless, let’s have a look at the standings in our very own Sharksworld pool in the score prediction game over at

Game 41: Hurricanes v Crusaders

Man, even when the Crusaders aren’t very good, they’re still bloody good. This was one of their few tough away games and they came through it pretty well, winning by seven points, 20-13. Pity they lost Dan Carter in the process, but you can’t have everything, right? Lots of margin points here, but only Dive Pass got it spot on, so 2.5 points to him.

Game 42: Waratahs v Cheetahs

Yet another agonising loss for the Cheetahs, losing the “Battle of the Tahs” by 4 points, 23-19. The vast majority of us picked the right winner, but few though it would be as close. Congrats to fattmann and Sharkie who were both within a point of the correct margin.

Game 43: Force v Stormers

Well done Stormers. What a great win and a great way to make all South Africans proud. 32-26 and a win by 16 points! Alas for us Sharksworldians, nobody thought it would be anywhere near that decisive, so there are no margin points. Fatality, PaarlGimmie and the_finman shared the bonus point for predicting Stormers by 8, which was the closest.

Game 44: Chiefs v Highlanders

No real surprises here. The Chiefs were made to look very good by the bumbling Bulls last week and it was more of the same here as the even worse Highlanders came to town. Final result was 39-24, Chiefs by 15. Lots of margin points, but only Debs got the difference spot on.

Game 45: Blues v Bulls

The bloody Bulls can’t do anything right. They were meant to get a thrashing here and they couldn’t even do that. Next best would have been for them to win (to make things easier for the Stormers and the Sharks) and they couldn’t get that right either. In a superbly ironic twist, they were denied victory through a refereeing error late in the game. Now why does that sound so familiar? Blues won 23-20 and there were no margin points, although Wehan scooped the bonus by predicting Blues by 8.

Game 46: Sharks v Reds

I guess it’s a pretty sad indictment on the state of play that not too many people backed the Sharks to win by a cricket score here. Our team again failed to ignite and we had to make do with a 22-10, 12-point victory. Salmo, Bru-El, bryce_in_oz, PaarlGimmie and fattmann all got this one spot on.

This week saw the return of the GSP, with no fewer than 8 tipsters savouring an ultra-sweet 2 extra points for picking all 6 games correctly. Congrats to DivePass, PaarlGimmie, Fatality, the_finman, PJLD, namboer, Hmmm and Kandas for getting them all spot on this week.

The battle for second place is still a ding-dong one. Kandas surged back into second with a strong round, cutting Ghost10′s lead to just over 4 points! Sinbinners drops to third with Villie about a quarter of a point behind. DivePass is the MVP this round with a superb return of 10 points which sees him firmly in the top 10. PaarlGimmie was runner up with 9.5, while Fatality and the_finman scooped 9.3.

Here is the complete top 10:

1 Ghost10 56.08
2 Kandas 51.94
3 Villie 49.11
4 SinBinners 48.75
5 the_finman 47.58
6 namboer 47.24
7 Debs 47.08
8 DivePass 46.90
9 Fatality 46.83
10 IceBabe 45.83

Ghost10 is still the only Sharksworld contributor still in the top 10. Here’s where the rest of us are:

15 robdylan 43.00 Up one this week, but still no bonus points
23 Sandshark 39.08 Holding steady, still waaay behind his missus
29 PissAnt 37.33 Down a few! Come on PA!
29 Western Sauce 37.33 Now level with his fellow Stormer
34 PJLD 34.88 Claytie has climbed about 5 places and is pushing hard

  • Also went up a few spots this week…trying to push hard for that Top 10 but looking at the points i might have to be content with breaking the Top 15.

  • Was my best tipping weekend, well after that I’ll take a bye like the Stormers. This weekend is VERY difficult because all the matches 50/50s. Have to rely on the Sharks to give me again some bonus points. Difficult to say but hell why not “Go Haaie”
