The NSW Waratahs have named the same side for the third straight week for their vital Super 14 match against the Sharks at the Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday.

RugbyHeaven Aus reports that the Waratahs will be gunning for five straight wins in the match-up between teams two and three on the ladder, as well as aiming to complete an undefeated record at home this season.

Ewen McKenzie’s side trails the second-placed Sharks by one point and will go a long way to boosting hopes of a home semi-final with victory.

Starting XV: Sam Norton-Knight, Lachie Turner, Rob Horne, Tom Carter, Lote Tuqiri, Kurtley Beale, Luke Burgess, Wycliff Palu, Phil Waugh (capt), Dean Mumm, Dan Vickerman, Will Caldwell, Matt Dunning, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Benn Robinson.
Reserves: Adam Freier, Al Baxter, David Lyons, Beau Robinson, Brett Sheehan, Matt Carraro, Alfi Mafi.

  • tough game for the sharks. the Tahs pack is looking formidable.
Mumm is ok, but i;d play with Beau Robinson at blindside, very good openside flanker in the schalk burger mould. then there’s the 120kg tongan palu at 8. Beale has moments of brilliance on attack, but reckon sharks should target his channel (not good on defense). Steyn will have to keep an eye on Horne who is very quick and Burgess has been great at scrumhalf.

  • yoh KSA, i’ve seen Beale do some amazing things, very talented, but I dont think he really has the heart to be one of the greats…still young tho and will cause the oppo alot of problems if he gets some confidence.

  • Elsom’s problem is that he is huge and FLIPPING quick… Well, not so much a problem for him as it is for the oppo ;)

I think Julies has those same qualities you mention in Beale. yet we only ever see them on display once every 6 games from Beale and once every 12 from Julies.

The two of them remind me of each other almost as much as Ruan reminds me of Honiball.
