  • Stephen Moore is adamant Queensland will fire up against the Chiefs after being smeared as “pansies” in a get-square aimed at Chris Latham’s two-year-old jibe that Hamilton is boring.

The Waikato Times newspaper ignored Anzac Day manners with a salvo on its front page where a must-do list of tourist stops for the Queenslanders was made up under the injured Latham’s name.

“Visit the gardens. Plenty of pansies there, like our team bus really,” the mock memo read under the name Chris “Too cool to pull my socks up” Latham.

It went further: “Go to the casino . . . a good way to get in the right frame of mind for losing.”

And: “Get out to the netball. It will be good to watch other girls play.”

Hooker Moore was already focused on a big Super 14 performance for his 50th state game before his motivation swelled after reading that niggle.

“It’s banter, but that pansy stuff makes you irate,” he said.

“Whoever wrote it doesn’t know anything about what this Reds team is about.

“Our talk all week has been about being combative in the forwards and going at the Chiefs.

“This is extra motivation for sure.”

Australia full-back Latham said he had been badly misrepresented.

“Holidaying in NZ is a must for me after I finish playing for skiing and jetboating but you can’t exactly do that adrenalin-junkie stuff as a rugby player 24 hours out from a game in Hamilton,” Latham said.

“It can be a place where it’s very hard to get right mentally but the Hamilton people will be happy to know I gave the coaches a to-do list with a steel sculptures exhibition and a V8 photo display on it.”

  • You would think the Chiefs would have learnt from the Force’s mistake.

Last week Drew mitchell said the Force would easily absorb any 15minute macho Bravado that the Reds may have.

    Final Score
    Reds – 29
    Force – 12

  • It would be nice if the Reds could win here. Would prefer it if the Chiefs don’t have anything to play for in Durbs

  • I’ve heard of Petty
    I’ve heard of Childish

Now I’ve seen a Paper Lion behave like a 7 year old.

It seems The Paper Lion (The Admin for the RW FL) has decided I am not welcome to play on the Ruggaworld Fantasy League and removed me from their league.

Try – Stephen Donald chips through for Masaga to chase. Masaga gets there first and dots down in the corner. The TMO agrees.
