Human makes Stormers debut

Wylie Human in for Dylan Des Fountain and Brok Harris at tighthead are the shocks in the Stormers team to play the Brumbies.

In what can only be described as a suicidal move, ace tigthhead Brian Mujati has been moved across to the other side of the scrum to make way for Harris, while Schalk Ferreira finds himself on the bench. Mujati at 3 has been the cornerstone of the Stormers pack’s success this year and one feels that Rassie Erasmus has missed a trick here.

Schalk Brits is back at hooker, with Robbie Diack in at number 8. Luke Watson moves to the side of the scrum in place of the injured Schalk Burger. Young Pieter Myburgh comes onto the bench as the loose forward replacement.

In the backs, regular halfbacks Januarie and Grant are re-united, while journeyman winger Human is named in the number 14 shirt. Des Fountain clearly did not impress the coach on the wing last weekend, so his demotion to the bench is an indication that he is no longer considered a suitable specialist out wide.

Here is the team:

15 Jantjes, 14 Human, 13 Bobo, 12 de Villiers (capt), 11 Naqelevuki, 10 Grant, 9 Januarie, 8, Diack, 7 Louw, 6 Watson, 5 Bekker, 4 Fondse, 3 Harris, 2 Brits, 1 Mujati
16 Fourie, 17 Ferreira, 18 Skeate, 19 Myburgh, 20 Conradie, 21 Brown, 22 des Fountain

  • Des Fountain was better than okay last week, why drop him to the bench now?

  • He has apparently been playing really well KSA.

I can understand why Mujati has been moved.

Ferreira was pretty average in the scrums against the Highlanders.

  • was Ferreira that kak?

I would rather have brought Harris in at 1 and left Mujati at 3… You just don’t compromise at tighthead

  • Ferreira had moered, not as bad as that Lions prop a few weeks ago but he was pretty close to performing a colonoscapy on himself

  • The Brumbies are not a scrummaging team, so Rassie has taken a calculated gamble, the fact is Ferreria wasn’t too sharp in any aspect of his game last week.

I would have gone with the central water fountain over the pensioner….

  • I dont think its such a bad move.

The baby brumbies simply arent a scrummaging side by any stretch of the imagination.

  • Us Capetonians keep a keen eye on the petrol price as we continually weigh it up against the cost of a bottle of meths and half a loaf of white bread.

  • Surprised with Wylie’s pick but he is the right one. Maybe a bit of experiense will help us. Also though our scrums struggle against those mullet manne last week and glad he chuck Skeate for Fondse. Would also like to see Pieter Myburgh started but cant have them all. As long as the Stormers win, thats all that matter.

  • One thing we need is to defend like mad men. Clean out at rucks was bad last week, hoping Rassie works on that one with Smith & kie.

We have beat two Aussie teams in Aus , so whats the change we cant beat them on Newlands?
