Springbok prop CJ van der Linde could be lost to South African rugby, a report has claimed.
The Afrikaans Sunday newspaper Sondag reported that Van der Linde could quit the country for an overseas contract and asked for a private chat with Springbok coach Peter de Villiers this week to try and find a way of staying in South Africa, according to news24.
De Villiers has already lured Bok captain John Smit, lock Victor Matfield and fullback Percy Montgomery back to South Africa and also negotiated a return for flyhalf Butch James. Van der Linde, who played his 50th Test match against Italy on Saturday at Newlands, has reportedly been seriously considering offers from European clubs but first wanted to talk to the Bok coach before making a decision.
The report said Van der Linde will sign for a club in Europe next week, unless a compromise can be found which will keep him in South Africa.Tweet
