Falcons coach Rudy Joubert made only one change to his bench for their second Currie Cup fixture of the season to be played in Brakpan against the Griquas on Saturday.
Blonde flanker Warren Perkins joins his brother Reg on the bench in the only change in a very inexperienced Currie Cup side, according to a report on News24.com.
Only veteran number eight Sean Plaatjies, captain and inside centre Hanno Coetzee, lock Wouter Moore and fullback Jacques Schutte had played any A section Currie Cup rugby for another province. More than half the side have played in seven or less Currie Cup games and another three in 13.
Fullback Schutte is the only player with Super rugby experience in the squad.
The Falcons have to most inexperienced side in the Currie Cup competition and it was evident in their match last Friday night when they squandered a match-winning lead against the Boland Cavaliers. Five players in the Falcons Starting XV made their A section Currie Cup debut in that match.
Joubert therefore showed faith in his starting XV against Griquas.
The Falcons didn’t win a single Currie Cup match last season.
