The coach of the Vodacom Blue Bulls Frans Ludeke will know by Sunday which of his Springboks will be available for the remainder of the Absa Currie Cup.
thebulls.co.za reports that Ludeke said on Monday morning that they will discuss the availability of the Springboks during a meeting with SA Rugby in Johannesburg on Sunday and after that the Bulls will have more clarity about the role players such as Victor Matfield, Fourie du Preez, Bryan Habana and Pierre Spies will play in the Currie Cup.
Bakkies Botha will miss the entire Currie Cup due to injury but good news for the Bulls is that Akona Ndungane and Derick Kuün are fit to play against the Western Province at Loftus Versfeld on Friday night.
Kuün recovered from a niggling hamstring injury that he picked up in the week prior to the match against the Valke and Ndunagne had a few problems with his hip flexors.
However, Francois van Schouwenburg and Zane Kirchner are still going to be on the sideline for a while.
Van Schouwenburg broke his hand against the Lions and will in all probability be back in four week’s time while Kirchner’s injury will sideline him for another week or two.Tweet
