Free State Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske was given a backhander when three of his Springboks, captain Juan Smith, flyhalf Chris Rossouw and Hendro Scholtz could not be considered for the match-22 against the Falcons in Brakpan on Friday night.

News 24 reports that Jacques-Louis Potgieter is back at flyhalf in a match the Cheetahs have to win with a bonus point and a huge margin because of their shaky points differential, while Kabamba Floors replaces Smith on the flank. Scholtz’s place on the bench goes to Schalk van der Merwe

Free State Cheetahs: Bevin Fortuin; JW Jonker, Robert Ebersohn, Meyer Bosman, Jongi Nokwe; Jacques-Louis Potgieter, Tewis de Bruyn; Duanne Vermeulen, Kabamba Floors, Heinrich Brussow, Barend Pieterse (capt.), David de Villiers, Kobus Calldo, Adriaan Strauss, Wian du Preez.

Replacements: Richardt Strauss, Shrek Oosthuizen, Nico Breedt, Schalk van der Merwe, Jandre Blom, Hennie Daniller, Eddie Fredericks.

  • These guys should get the BP they need, but I doubt they will get the margin to overtake WP on PD.

They will narrow the gap this week and overtake WP next week
