This last week was a bit of a strange one, with the Guiness Premiership matches being played midweek and the next matches only being played on Friday 17 November. Maybe it will give some of us a little more chance at getting to know the teams as they play in different competitions.

At this rate we could all soon have had a turn at being MVP of the week. We have completed round 5 of the competition and we are yet to have a repeat MVP. This week Whindy takes the honours with a cool 7,5 points. “Cool” because only two players have scored higher than that until now, Rob with a whopping 11,3 and Blackshark with 7,7, both achieved in round 3. Bergbok slides into MVP 2nd with 7,0. Closely followed by a three player pile up in 3rd on 6,5 points each, Superviv, Robdylan and Sandshark.

Top 5 MVPs
Whindy – 7,5
Bergbok – 7,0
Superviv – 6,5
Robdylan – 6,5
Sandshark – 6,5

This round only saw one results go against the pick with only 37,69% of the punters picking Bath to beat London Wasps. When will they learn NOT to pick against the SA combo of James & Claasens? The only other close call was 51,08% making the correct call on the London irish beating Sale Sharks. I wasn’t one of that 51%. The remaining four matches all saw successful rates in excess of 70%.

It is worth a mention that we had 5 people get only one prediction wrong this week. Whindy, Bergbok, Superviv, McLovin and SilverFox. Congratulations to these guys.

This week’s top 5 has only one change with Villie taking his 2nd place back from Blackshark, who drops down to 3rd. Robdylan has managed to keep his lead at the top pegged at 2,75 points in the last two rounds. SilverFox and Debs are still in 4th and 5th spots respectively but have managed to shrink the gap to 3rd.

The Rocket for the week goes to none other than Whindy and with that manages to get himself firmly into the top 10. Another interesting observation is that the Rocket has been getting weaker each week with the number of places climbed getting 1 less per week.

PJLD seems to be going for some sort of consitency award by becoming the first player to earn a repeat longdrop award, but that is bound to happen if you forget to make your picks.    It seems as if the air is slowly leaking out of the papsak, I am not sure if the papsak is dragging him down or if he is dragging the papsak down?

Top 10 After Round 5

1 robdylan – 30.25
2 Villie – 27.50

6 Bergbok – 25.42
7 superviv – 25.25
8 Sandshark – 24.83
9 Whindy – 23.25
