Montpellier’s South African centre Grant Rees was on Wednesday ruled out for two months because of a broken finger, his French club announced.

Rees will undergo surgery on Thursday to repair the injury suffered in the 3-46 defeat at Biarritz at the weekend, according to Rugby365.

Montpellier start their European campaign when they meet Bristol in a European Challenge Cup match at Stade Yves Du Manoir, Colombes, on Friday.

  • I was just thinking to myself this morning, ‘Self, I wonder how Grant Rees is doing’.
