U-21: Free State pip Province

Free State came from behind in their Under-21 A Group semifinal match against defending champions Western Province to win 27-21. Western Province led 16-5 at the break in a match where both sides scored three tries.

The Free State will play the winner of the match between the Blue Bulls and the Golden Lions who meet at Loftus in the other semifinal on Saturday.

** In Potchefstroom the Falcons staged a huge comeback after trailing 34-8 at the break. They scored five tries in the second half to narrowly lose 42-37 to Griquas in the final of the Under-21 Group B competition. Both sides scored six tries.

** The Griffons Under-19 side scored 10 tries to two in beating Griquas 69-15 in the final of the Group B match at Potchefstroom after leading 43-0 at halftime.
