It seems some of us used the break in Guinness Premiership to have a rest and have not yet decided to get those (or should that be these?) brains working again. One of us it seems went off and spent the entire break studying the teams and their performances.

After round 6 of the Premiership we still have not got anyone who has managed a repeat MVP. This week CSBok took no prisoners and scored a whopping 12,3 points. To put that in perspective, it is more than DOUBLE his closest rival this week who happens to be Villie on 6 points. Milissa follows closely behind Villie on 5,5 points with Walt and Superviv fighting it out for 4 the MVP 4th placing with Walt edging Superviv at 4,5 to 4,3.

Top 5 MVPs
CSBok – 12,3
Villie – 6,0
Milissa – 5,5
Walt – 4,5
Superviv – 4,3

Unfortunately we cannot even blame our low scores this week on upset wins. Although Butch James did once again show his class by scoring a match winning try for Bath in the 267th minute of the game. When will you learn NOT to pick against Butch and Bath? It seems that most of the teams that were supposed to win, actually DID win. ( Sorry Silver Fox, ) In all but two of the matches, that is. Sale Sharks’ 9 – 17 loss to Worcester was the one major upset with less than 5% of punters picking the correct team. In the other upset only 25% picked Gloucester to beat Saracens. Bristol’s 1 point win over the Saints cannot really be considered an upset at 45% of us getting it right. The other three matches all saw in excess of 75% worldwide predicting the outcome correctly.

There is only one new face in this week’s top 5 with Superviv clawing his way back up there, with a two position climb and Debs dropping out. While on the subject of dropping… Debs also earns the dubious honour of getting this week’s long drop award for her drop of 5 positions to 10th place. Robdylan had a shocking round with only one correct prediction but manages to stay in second spot almost 2 points behind Villie who finally makes it into top spot after having never been lower than 3rd since the beginning of the competition. Blackshark and Silver Fox stay unchanged in 3rd and 4th positions respectively.

I am sure you have all guessed by now that this week’s Rocket goes to CSBok. Not only has he scored the highest in this round but also in the entire Sharksworld competition so far. I suspect it will be a while before someone else comes close to that 12,3 of his. 6 from 6 correct picks, 2,3 closest pick bonus points, 4 within the margin and a GSP point as well.

Just a note to CSBok: Please ensure that you seal the sample bottles well and that you declare any performance enhancing drugs on the documentation attached to the bottles. Please also ensure that a witness signs to verify that it is YOUR urine being submitted for testing purposes?

A Special mention to our new player in the pool SS. SS is new to Sharksworld and goes by Short Shark on the site, although he is yet to come out of the shadows. This is a looooooong completion spanning 22 rounds and there is still plenty of time to get up there in the standings.

Top 10 After Round 6

1 Villie – 33,50
2 Robdylan – 31,75
3 blackshark – 30,42
4 Silver Fox – 29,67
5 Superviv – 29,58
6 Sandshark – 28,83
7 CSBok – 27,58
8 Bergbok – 27,42
9 McLovin – 27,00
10 Debs – 26,08

  • @KSA Shark © (Comment 14) : guys – for the most part, I’m just picking the home side to win every game by 7 points. I really don’t know enough about the league to do anything more scientific than that

2,75 points. now he trails by 1,75.

We should ask Rob if he has any insight into what the Bulls felt like after the Reds managed such a big turnaround on them in the S14.
