The Rugby Times is running an article on the Du Plessis brothers being a package deal for the Guinness Premiership next season.
Springbok and Sharks hooker Bismarck Du Plessis could be heading North to the Guinness Premiership next season – on condition that his big brother Jannie is included in the deal.
Northampton Saints and Heyneke Meyer’s Leicester Tigers are believed to be keen on obtaining the services of the Sharks star.
Du Plessis, who is being touted to be the next big name at hooker for the Springboks as Captain john Smit moves to Tighthead.
Bismarck is apparently adamant that any team interested in luring him to the UK must also sign Sharks and Bok tighthead Jannie Du Plessis, as part of the deal.
Jannie, who will in all likelyhood earn his 7th Bok cap this weekend, has himself confirmed that he is not that interested in a move overseas. As we know though, this is Rugby, and it anly takes a zero or two to generate that interest.
Leicester coach Heyneke Meyer is believed to already have decided that he is not keen on a package deal for both brothers.

the ambiguity in the original article is something that i could not find clarity on, BUT when they say NEXT season I suspect they mean the Guinness premiership season, which only starts shortly before our 2009 season is finished.
IF this does materialize then I expect something similar to Barrit, v heerden etc. where they will go after out season is done and dusted.

Really, who, other than the WP scrumming powerhouse, would not be interseted in their services – but have they even approached them or their agents. Im sure the local club at Sevenoaks wouldn’t mind them on their books either.
Correct. This is not even a story. I guarantee you that virtually the entire Sharks squad is on the want list of every club in Europe. Just cos there’s interest doesn’t mean anything. Remember, too, that signing for a foreign club means no more bok selection
