  • VERY thin in the Hooker department, with none of them really being noteworthy names IMO.

  • From this they can make a pretty squad. They are not as thinly spread as I thought originally. Midfield amd hooker are really the only thin spots.

    15. Mangweni
    14. Ndungane
    13. Olivier
    12. Red card Nel
    11. Mametsa
    10. Morne Steyn
    9. F Du Preez
    8. Spies
    7. Dewald Potgieter
    6. Stegmann
    5. Matfield
    4. Bakkies
    3. Gerber
    2. Kuun
    1. Steenkamp

    Subs
    16. Ralepelle
    17. Werner kruger
    18. Jaco Engels
    19. Danie Rossouw
    20. Hougaard / Adams
    21. Francis
    22. Kirchner

  • @KSA Shark © (Comment 2) : Chilliboy Ralepelle is a pretty noteworthy name, IMO.

If they don’t pick Olivier (at 12) and Pretorius (at 13) as their centres, then I just don’t know.

Looking a little thin in the loose forwards, I’d say. They’re going to miss Wikus.

  • They lack real quality depth at hooker (Kuun is shocking and Chilli must start). They look good at lock, despite all that has happened and have some decent props, although none are worldbeaters. Dewald Potgieter and JP Nel are both disciplinary nightmares, while Kirchner is not much better.

Missing Dr Francois van Schouvenberg at lock for the Brutes. Anyone know where he is gone?

  • Massive squad… why so many bleddy centres?

WO needs to continue his good form at 12… so too Kirchner… a bit more refining with the latter would have him definitely at least carrying tackle-bags in the Bok squad for mine…

Definitely time for a South Africa A team next season… to test the likes of Ralepele, Kirchner, WO, Heinke etc etc etc and other fringe-players without having to hand out caps… this works wonders for the AB’s and Wobblies…

Scrap that pathetic excuse of Emerging Vodacom Cup players!
