South Africans Gerrie Britz and Philip Burger have extended their contracts with French first division club Perpignan by three years through to the 2011/12 season.

News24 reports that second-row forward Britz, 30, a former Cats and Stormers player, initially signed with the Catalan club last season after Colin Gaston moved to Castres.

Burger, 28, the former Cheetahs fullback who specialised in Sevens, was recruited in December 2007 but underwent a knee ligament operation before taking to the pitch.

  • Anyone see Burger’s black leggings in the Perpignan-Tigers game last night? Got a few wolf-whistles from the crowd…well maybe it was also his blond highlights…

Anyway, i thought he was k!k. We all know about his pace, but his lack of any form of defense & fear of taking the high ball…eish.

  • @Le Req (Comment 6) : hey Quinn… you’ve been scarce.

I saw some of that game. Must say, I find it difficult to support ANY English side over a French one.

  • @Le Req (Comment 8) : exactly the way I felt! Man, I was literally begging them to get a try at the end. Reckon Quins were lucky not to have a guy carded at the end

  • At least that annoying Danny Care got carded…

Felt the Quins’ were a tad lucky with their tries, though their defense was excellent.

  • Just saw some highlights on the Bath vs Glasgow game. Damn but Butch was poor. He slipped two tackles which resulted in tries.

  • @Le Req (Comment 6) :

I never liked him….he and Benjamin have the same stinky attitudes….
Burger is just better at catching a ball and scoring tries…the rest they equally bad…
