All Blacks fly-half Dan Carter suffered an Achilles tendon injury on Friday and was forced to sit out training with his French club Perpignan.

“If I’m not training, it’s just a precautionary measure. But I’m confident that it’s nothing serious,” said Carter who will undergo a fitness test on Sunday before the French Top 14 trip to Brive.

If Carter is unavailable, his place is likely to go to David Mele.
