Bulls coach Frans Ludeke believes his team had a successful training camp in George despite initial reports of unhappiness within the camp, surfacing in December.
Reports stated that the majority of the Bulls squad were unhappy at the fact that a group of senior players and management have been given special treatment at the team’s pre-season camp.
During the camp, the bulk of the squad stayed at the Outeniqua High School hostel as has been the norm over the years.
However Ludeke, captain Victor Matfield, Fourie du Preez, Bryan Habana and forwards coach Johan van Graan all chose to stay in and around George in more luxurious circumstances.
The coach stressed that the matter had been resolved and they had a wonderful training camp and are in a privileged position because there aren’t any serious injuries within the squad.
“We had an excellent training camp where we could make progression at various levels,” Ludeke said on the team’s official website.
“We definitely moved forward and all in all I was very pleased with the camp,” Ludeke said
The Bulls will play their first warm-up match in three weeks time with two teams against the Lions and thereafter friendly matches against the Cheetahs and the Sharks will follow.Tweet
