Two South Africans, at least, seem to be doing great things with their respective French clubs.
Joe van Niekerk, late of the Lions, WP, the Lions (again) and the Boks has apparently been appointed captain of the struggling Toulon outfit. Big Joe is one of the only players at the struggling outfit to have emerged from their disastrous run in the Top 14 with any sort of credit and the powers that be in Toulon are hoping that he can inspire and lift his teammates out of the relegation zone.
Another for WP boy, Marius Joubert, has meanwhile concluded a new deal with Clermont Auvergne which will see the Bok centre stay with the central French club until 2011. Joubert, whom many hoped might return to South Africa after a very promising initial stint in France, has sent a pretty strong message that he intends to see out his playing days in Europe.Tweet
