The first of the Kiwi derbies for the 2009 Super 14.

The Chiefs leave hick town to travel to Christchurch for the start of their 2009 campaign.

Will the Crusaders carry on where they left off in 2008? Or will the Chiefs just be too much for them?

Venue: AMI Stadium, Christchurch
Kick-off: 17.30 Local Time – 06:30 SA Time

  • Saw one tackle, McCaw is lying between the Chiefs player who was tackled and the Chiefs support. The ball comes out the side and the Crusaders have the ball. What about not rolling away or slowing the ball down?

    i’m a firm believer of you play to the ref. if you can get away with it then you keep doing your best to get away with it. If the ref cocks it up then he needs to get nailed.

    I can’t comment (read that as defend :razz: ) on the ref as i cannot see the game. :wink:

    I think before the end of this season there will be a LOT more than just hints about people not being unhappy with referees.

    It is a big risk using merit appointments but on the whole I think it is a good idea.
