S14 ’09 Game 42 – Crusaders (11) v Stormers (7) F/T

The Stormers start a grueling road trip with what can only be described as a Crusaders team that is returning to form.

The Crusaders have never lost to the Stormers, outside of South Africa, but records are made to be broken. Until yesterday the Waratahs had never won in Auckland…

Both teams have only won two games thusfar and a loss here would virtually spell an end to any play-off chances.

Will the Stormers get that first NZ win against the Crusaders?

Or Will the Crusaders show the form that makes them the most successful Super rugby team ever?

  • We’re wanting 5 points from the brumbies today. That will put us 4 points ahead of the Bulls which we need since they have a game in hand.

  • It’s an absolute DISGRACE that a South African team fields a player as hopeless as Willem De Waal…I cannot believe the Stormers can select him. He is palpably not up to Super 14 standard. His only strength is kicking and tonight didn’t even appear to know the new rules. What a waste of a backline by shifting Grant, JDV and Bobo one place out!!

  • So can we expect a “The Stats say we won” comment from either of the Erasmus twins this week?

Rassie was actually quite clever this year. He has had a media balckout on the team for a while now. This way when they say he won’t talk to the press because of his teams poor performances, he can say ‘Statistically I have not spoken to the media all season”

@rekinek (Comment 111) : The “biscuit” is now signed on from work!!

What IS going on with the Stormers….Rassie is surposed to be such a great coach…or was it only the coloured lights & planks that did it for him???

And it was as ugly as well.

The Stormers looked lethargic, which is surprising as they had the previous week off, plenty of time for travel and finding their feet.
