The Sharks may be on top of the Super 14 totem pole, but captain Johann Muller feels their rivals haven’t seen the best of them yet.
Speaking after his team’s impressive 33-17 win over the Hurricanes at the weekend, Muller expressed his delight at the four points that put his team back on top of the standings.
Outscoring the Hurricanes by three tries to two, it was their defence and two-try blitz in the first 10 minutes of the second half that sealed the victory for the home team.
But it was also a game littered with errors, many of them coming from the Sharks.
“Obviously we are happy with the four points,” Muller said, adding: “But I don’t think we were at our best.
“We made a lot of mistakes and we didn’t keep hold of the ball all the time.
“However, we are very happy with four points we got against a quality side like this,” he said of a Hurricanes team that made them sweat.
Muller pinpointed a lack of ball control as one of the problem areas.
“We didn’t keep the ball in the first half and at the break we just said we have hold on to the ball and build some pressure.
“Then they made a couple of mistakes and we scored from it.”Tweet
