Crusaders captain Richie McCaw will miss this weekend’s Super 14 Round 12 match against the Lions as he has been ruled out due to a concussion suffered in last weekend’s match against the Cheetahs.

Rugbyweek reports that McCaw has been replaced in the starting line up by Jonathan Poff.

Wing Kade Poki was also ruled out due to a haematoma behind a knee suffered in the same rugby match.

Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder has resisted moving Leon MacDonald to number 10 despite mentioning earlier in the week that he was considering the move in order to get the back line firing and Stephen Brett retains the number 10 jersey.

Hamish Gard comes on to the reserves bench as a replacement.

Andy Ellis comes back into the starting line up which pushes Kahn Fotuali’i back to the bench.

  • Boy are my Crusader supporting colleagues here at work worried now. The Lions can do it. Funnily my Blues supporting mates are still cock-a -hoop mearly because they are ahead of the Crusaders on the points log. Oh well not so funny we would be happy to be above the Bulls on the points Log.
