A busy day for Monty

Monty Dumond has been named in the match 22′s for both the Sharks XV and the Sharks proper this week. I hope he’s got a decent supply of Energade lined up.

The Vodacom Cup team have been quite severely disrupted this week as they face a tough Griquas outfit in Durban. Both regular skipper Andries Strauss and his deputy, Charl McLeod have been called up to the Sharks squad, leaving Skipper Badenhorst to captain the side from the number 2 jersey. Skollie Ndlovu drops out this weekend, so Justin Downey continues his back-row merry-go-round and will take over the number 6 jersey. Mike Rhodes is back in 7.

Amongst the backs, it’s all change, with Len Olivier taking over from the frankly unimpressive Guy Cronje at flyhalf. Veteran Trevor Halstead continues at inside centre, while he has a new partner in Nick Jackson at outside centre. Chris Jordaan takes over from Zuks Vulindlu at right wing, with Dumond named to start at fullback.

Dumond will wear the Number 21 jersey for the Sharks later on Saturday afternoon.

Andy Borgen and Danie Dames return to the squad as backline cover, along with newcomer Alex Kock, who will be the scrumhalf reserve this week.
