Peter de Villiers has named an incredibly sensible-looking Bok side to take on the Lions in Durban on Saturday. Morné Steyn is the only uncapped player in the match 22.
Heinrich Brüssow has been named to start at openside flank, with Schalk Burger ruled out due to injury. Juan Smith and Pierre Spies virtually pick themselves as the balance of the loose trio, with the lock pairing of Bakkies Botha and Victor Matfield also a foregone conclusion. John Smit captains the side from tighthead, with provincial teammates Bismarck du Plessis and Tendai Mtawarira joining him in the front row.
Ruan Pienaar will be at flyhalf, joined, of course, but the brilliant Fourie du Preez at scrumhalf. Centres Jean de Villiers and Adi Jacobs will carry on from where they left off last year, while Bryan Habana and JP Pietersen are also fairly obvious selections on the wing.
Frans Steyn has won the race for the number 15 jersey.
The bench is fairly interesting, with both Gurthrö Steenkamp and Deon Carstens providing cover at prop. John Smit will seemingly be the hooker replacement. Andries Bekker and Danie Rossouw make up the rest of the forward replacements, meaning an unlucky omission for Ryan Kankowski. Ricky Januarie and Jacque Fourie have plenty of experience, while rookie Steyn will look to make an impact in the number 21 shirt.
