Vodacom Blue Bulls flanker Dewald Potgieter, is going to be on the sideline for at least four weeks after he fractured his wrist.

X-rays on Monday confirmed Potgieter has a fracture after he had some troubles with his wrist for the last two weeks, and therefore coach Frans Ludeke will have to select a new loose trio for the weekend’s match.

Potgieter’s partner in the Super 14, Deon Stegmann, will be available for Friday’s clash against the Boland Cavaliers and Pedrie Wannenburg is also up for selection, after both recovered from injury.

Apart from Stegmann and Wannenburg, Burton Francis as well as John Mametsa is also training again and they will be eager to show they belong in the starting XV.

Francois Hougaard, who had to withdraw from the match against the Sharks owing to a groin injury, has recovered and might start at scrumhalf against the Cavaliers and although Wilhelm Steenkamp (knee), Flip van der Merwe (shoulder) and Fudge Mabeta (ankle) did not train with the team on Monday, Dr Org Strauss believes they will be fit for the fourth round clash.
