Dawie Theron has welcomed back three key forwards for this weekend’s top-of-the-table clash against the Sharks in Durban.
The 123kg Albertus Buckle will join former Valke hooker Ryno Barnes in a revamped front row – the Griquas scrum having taken strain against the Bulls last week. Lock forward Cecil Kemp returns from a loan spell with Eastern Province to replace former Sharks XV player Nolan Clark in the second row. Clark will be on the bench, together with prop Steph Roberts, who started last week.
The backline is unchanged, with halfbacks Sarel Pretorius and Naas Olivier, in particular, a dangerous combination.
The Sharks lineup should be announced by 4pm today.
Griquas: 15 Riaan Viljoen, 14 Egon Seconds, 13 Jaco Bekker, 12 Barry Geel, 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Naas Olivier, 9 Sarel Pretorius, 8 Jonathan Mokuena (captain), 7 Davon Raubenheimer, 6 Rohan Kitshoff, 5 Jacques Lombaard, 4 Cecil Kemp, 3 Ruaan du Preez, 2 Ryno Barnes, 1 Albertus Buckle.
Replacements: 16 Andries Kruger, 17 Steph Roberts, 18 Nolan Clark, 19 Heinrich Stride, 20 Sean Plaatjies, 21 Trompie Nonthshinga, 22 Gavin Passens

Buckle, Barnes & Kemp sounds like a law firm.
Whatever happened to Louwkie Louw?
The Sharks could do worse than sign Riaan Viljoen.
@provincejoulekkading (Comment 2) : good question. I remember him playing for the Sharks. *shudder*
I’m led to believe Johann Muller will be starting, BTW
@wpw (Comment 3) : if we can get there ahead of Rassie Sodding Erasmus…
Ain’t you heard, though? We’re (supposedly) getting Louis Ludick.
@robdylan (Comment 4) : i dont know if its worth risking him this week already?
@willa (Comment 6) : I agree
@robdylan (Comment 5) : the sharks like taking guys with injuries, my they are cheaper while injured,wins kopies!!!!!!!!
@willa (Comment 6) : @Pokkel (Comment 7) :
Well , if he’s ready…bring him on – but I have to say the guys really did well in his absence.
@robdylan (Comment 4) : Stefan has been doing a good job captaining the Sharks and oupa Albert has been in good form…I’ll give JM another week off.
in a must-win game, you pick your regular captain if he’s fit.
The team is far stronger with Muller starting and Albert on the bench. Surely?
@robdylan (Comment 11) : i must say im really not to stressed about the game, im more stressed about the boland cheetahs game, i put 100 on boland, just had to try my luck, the odds are 1/750
@willa (Comment 12) : GO BOLAND
Justin Downey is in the squad…
Yet another Saffer batting for England…
@willa (Comment 12) :
Waar wed jy??
