There’s an unconfirmed rumour doing the rounds that Juan Martin Hernandez may miss the entire 2010 Super 14 owing to a back injury. The current prognosis for the Argentine pivot is 6 months on the sideline, meaning that, if the rumour is true, Hernandez had made his last appearance for the Sharks.
Other flyhalf options are thin on the ground, with Len Olivier already having been released and Ruan Pienaar and Guy Cronjé both recovering from off-season operations (knee and foot respectively). Our prediction is that Monty Dumond will be prevented from going to join the Cheetahs and will instead be the Sharks’ first-choice flyhalf in the Super 14.
It may well be that we’ll get the opportunity to see Pat Lambie play in what may well be his best position, far sooner than planned. We’ll keep you posted as this develops.Tweet
