Hernandez denies Racing move

In a frankly indecipherable interview with ESPN’s Argentinian site, Juan Martin Hernandez has denied that he has signed anything with Racing Metro (or any other club) and insists that his only focus is recovering from back surgery and getting onto the park as soon as possible.

It’s perhaps somewhat predictable – we know that the French clubs tend to be somewhat optimistic when announcing signings – but the enigmatic pivot insists “¡No arreglé nada!”, or “I have arranged nothing!”. He seemed quite taken aback at the suggestion that he would sign a deal with another club while currently unable to fulfil his commitments to the Sharks. According to my crude translation, Hernandez feels that would show a lack of respect to the team he still admires highly.

The other interesting snippet coming out of the interview is what Hernandez has to say about the injury. Apparently, it is something that hampered him even during the Currie Cup and prevented him from raising his game to the required consistency. It seems he realised that he would not be able to deliver the necessary level of Super 14 performance without getting the injury seen to. He anticipates 3 months rehabilitation and seems to have his sights set on rejoining the Sharks towards the end of the Super 14 season.

The original article is here. Anyone whose Spanish is better than mine, please have a go at translating it a little better.

    Juani answer all

BUENOS AIRES – The news shook the quiet summer so far oval. Juan Martin Hernandez, the boy in the movie the Argentine national team, was decommissioned by the South African Sharks to play the Super 14. Why such bad news in an era where the sun shines up there? What happens is that the number ten dragged on for a long time back injury, forcing him to undergo surgery. A downturn. “Yes, it really is a shock. It hurts a lot to me since the time of Stade Francais, but never gave the importance it deserved. This year, while in South Africa, I grabbed a little harder and, although he could play , was not 100%, “explains the Wizard to Scrum.comTrying to channel the anger that causes him to stay out of one of the most important tournaments in the world.

    - Serious injury?
-No. Although it was getting worse with the passage of time, there is something very screwed. But the issue is that I lose strength to play at the level you require the Super 14. I would not start and did not do it thoroughly. Precisely why I came to Argentina, to be operated on quickly and get 100% in the shortest time possible.

    - When you enter the operating room?
    “I think next week.

    - And the recovery is …?
“About three months. If I get to play a Super 14 match, much better. But first I have to be 100%, but no good.

“Of how things are occurring, are you indebted to the Sharks?
“I will do everything possible to play even a little time. Both my peers as leaders treated me very well, were very warm, and look forward to working with them when I recover from the operation.

    - But you feel you owe?
“I would be indebted if he played the Super 14 to 70%, as it faced the Currie Cup but could not relax because there was nuevito on the computer. Now you are, and I made the best decision for my future.

And talking about the future of the crack, the man in the surgical booty, another temita spinning. According to the French press, Juani and have signed with Racing Metro Paris to join the club in May. But he denied opening on Scrum.com. “Do not fix anything! Imagine that with this operation, the more respect I have for the Sharks, I will not go signing things at this stage, pulled, pulling down the decibels to publications.

“In his time he missed France said …
“I did it and hold it. I would love to return to France is a country where I have friends and besides, I love the French rugby. But it is time to talk about this. First I have to concentrate on the operation and better and recovering as quickly as possible to be on the court soon.

-In addition to being out the Super 14 since you missed the window of November with the Pumas …
“And strange lot to the team, each day that passes I have more desire to play alongside boys. The road to the World New Zealand is in the home stretch and I get to that stage yet.

    - Is that why the operation now?
“That’s one reason. He wanted now to be cutting ten points for the final preparation. Every time there is less time and am more motivated than ever to wear the Argentina shirt.

All said. Juani decided to stop the ball-oval, sort the points and think about their future. And yes, their future is intimately tied to the Pumas, so he better be lucky. A lighting candles, the Magus deserves it.

Well lets get racing to show the world the document, if it exists.

You have to add though that JMH would be silly to admit to signing for another club while the Sharks, which it looks like he may not play for again, is footing the bill for his rehab………
