Lions CEO Manie Reyneke today laid an official complaint against the Sharks regarding their decision to play Willem Alberts last night.
SARU have appointed Lex Mpati to investigate the complaint and he will convene a disciplinary committee in due course.
We’ll keep you posted, but I guess this is going to be one drawn out process.

If the Sharks followed the rout of arbitration in November this matter would have been solved long ago. Now Ludick and Alberts may sit on the pavilion for a few weeks and it may cost the Sharks money.
J Fourie won his case with cost so arbitration would have cost the Sharks R nul and this story would have been long forgotten.

I sense a bias towards the Sharks, funny that, but the Lions are quite within their rights to take you on, after all they are still officially LIONS players and until such time as a release is given you can not do a thing about it. Take it to arbitration and get it sorted. I am no Manie fan, but the players could end up missing the S14 because of this nonsense and I reckon the sharks are being just as naughty in this matter. Get it settled fast, so there is a win win situation. I have no desire to see those guys sitting on the sideline.
