Killer Tour?

After Saturday’s dreadful performance, many have written off the Sharks (including myself). But…

Has anyone noticed who we are playing when we go over? Only the top two teams of each Country. And to make things worse we have to fly over the Tasman four times. How dreadful.

Ah but did anyone bother to check the oppositions touring schedule. I think Plum did. He said he was setting the team to peak later rather than sooner. And now I know why. The four teams after the Crusaders game are all arriving back from SA the week before they play the Sharks at home. You all missed that little detail didn’t you? Yes the Sharks play four travel weary teams on tour namely, the Waratahs, Brumbies, Hurricanes and Highlanders. The playing field is thus level. Maybe there is a little sparkle of hope, as long as certain players learn from their stupidity. (You guys know who you are.)

A proper fetcher could also be nice. We have enough talented front rowers. Herbst and Patric are great at tighthead and burden and cooper can add impact coming off any bench.Jannie will make sure we give away at least 3 penalties while he is on and bismark will run into three players instead of one. Maybe he thinks he is Hulk. Get my Drift?

lots of agro towards the ref here Im surprised by that I mean yes he was usless and yes he cost us the game but the good thing is that it was the first game of the tournament so the loss is no big deal we have enought time to fix it Also guys think Cursaders here Hurricans also bad starters great finishers
I disagree about Monty though i thought he didnt do too badly and he didnt mess up
Bismark on the other hand huge fine 6 cuts and walk to NZ!!!

Not really fair to blame the ref. According to Plum he blew the game like het told the teams he would, so we shot ourselves in our own foot. Again.

Might just be a bit of justice for the Chiefs after we beat them last year in that cracker of a match. If I remember correctly they crossed the like 3 or 4 times, only to be denied by the TV ref.

Well then Plum must get fired.
He should immediately have smelt a rat when the ref told him that when a Sharks player trying to clear a loose scrum gets the ball kicked out of his hands by a Chiefs player lying on the deck that he would award a scrum to the Chiefs.

  • @NJP (Comment 67) : I hear you and I can accept that ref’s interpret differently, but thay must at least be consistant and that he definately wasn’t…..my gripe is that rugby rules are not applied in black and white but different shades of gray. You watch the game and you know the rules, but at 50% of rucks and mauls you as the rugby supporter get the calls ‘wrong’…It takes away all the fun and I’m not surprised that rugby players struggle from week to week to try and figure out what mood the ref is in.

Bismark needs to learn to control his temper…..but my heart is broken for our boys….too often we face cheating ref’s.

  • @bergshark (Comment 86) : suddenly bryce lawrence seems such good option

there is logic to it, if the ref doesn’t need to travel he should be fresher mentally awake etc.
plus good thing – at least the sharks know what to expect now.

  • on serious note. I’m not too worried about away games. Sharks seemed to build a healthy record recently, its the home games that worry me. As Bergsharl said somewhere earlier – they lost their invinsibility at King’s Park. This is worrying rather.

  • @sharks_lover (Comment 98) : Answered you back on RT.

Yip, wish we had Butchie, Fransie and Barritt all coming back, but really don’t see that happen. Would have been great though.

What happens like you said if Ruan got injured? Never rated Monty much this past weekend. What the youngster P. Lambie? Could he fill in there, I wonder?

Then I read the post, and ahhh. Good research TT.

  • @JustPlainSHARK (Comment 106) : thanks. it actually came cos of the wierd way my brain works. i half heard a supersport commentator mention the brumbies playing the bulls soon, and then i saw mumm was suspended so he was going to miss the sa tour, then i thought thats odd both those teams are playing sharks soon, let me check it out. and lo and behold there i saw the first two games after crusaders both aussie teams in sa the game before. then interested i decided to check the next two and i was shocked to see they to play in sa the week before. so you can imagine my excitement after a shit rugby weekend. i had to share the good news. especially after my previous kick in the ribs article.
