We can take these guys, on paper the Sharks should win.
Easily.
Bloody fast wings and outside centre though. Can’t give them a gap, we’ll never catch them!
At least Demas can’t tackle, and Nokwe isn’t known for his defence. Some gaps there I think.
@war1 (Comment 1) : So lets rip the tank’s grass out and replace it with paper…LOL
Seriously though, I expect a MUCH better performance from the Sharks, it’s a settled side with a lot to prove and the players to prove it with…
No one can tell me a backline with Kockot, Pienaar, Swannie, Murray and Pieterson is weak or lacks creativity….we gonna see a fdifferent Sharks team theis weekend…I actualy believe myself…starting to get excited.
@PTAShark (Comment 2) : Oi, I use to be one of those, a ‘pta shark’…I’ve been redeemed though, moved to the Kzn south coast…
@FireTheLooser (Comment 3) : if the pitch at the tank was made out of paper, the sharks would be defending champions this year
@FireTheLooser (Comment 4) : hey im a jozi/sort of rustenburg shark, war1 is just easier
@war1 (Comment 6) : Lots of Gauteng Sharks it seems….war1 is more appropriate for anyone living in Jo’burg…
@FireTheLooser (Comment 7) : im only here for university, but my username has little to do with war
if the sharks keep it tight & play multiple phase rugby then they’ll wear down the cheetahs. Hopefully the Sharks backline will have practised a few backline moves by friday, cos between andries strauss & murray it looked like they were playing for the barbarians & had no synergy at all. The cheetahs defensively are weak, deysel, alberts & kanko should look to carry the ball hard & learn to link & pop pass as the likes of brussow are mostly waiting to pounce @ the breakdown, so continuitiy is paramount.
The back three should stop kicking away possession cheaply and foolishly (read stefan) those k@k chips without a chaser are costly plus the cheetahs hve quick backs, they will pounce on any counter-attack opportunity…
So much to do for the Sharks, good luck to them.
I cant see our gates at centre allowing Mapoe to get through…those two will man handle him….and don’t under estimate Murray’s speed, that boy can also motor.
If the speedsters at the Cheetahs are proving to be a handfull just get Vulindlu or Mvovo onto the park, those guys can motor.
i would start mvovo ahead of odwa
@war1 (Comment 11) : Deffinitely, Od-one has been rather average now for quite some time, not sure what’s wrong there…he’s not too young either anymore.
Sharks to take this one imo, but make sure to post gaurds at the light switches, just in case
@diablo (Comment 13) : I’m also leaning towards the Sharks taking this, mostly over the shock of last week…it deffinitely had an impact on the team…I realy think we’re gonna see a good display this Friday from our Sharks.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 14) : Certainly hope so. The more SA teams at the top the better!
They do have some really blitz players there in Demas, Nokwe and Mapoe. Only that Demas can mess it up at times. Nokwe maybe not very good on defence but he is blitz for sure. Their front row and also their loose trio are very good.
If we play with discipline we should win this one. Also we must not kick it back to them all the time. They will punish us.
@diablo (Comment 15) : Very true, would love the SA teams to shut the kiwi teams up…would be great for SA rugby.
@Puma (Comment 16) : I think with Ruan at fh we’ll see the kicking being more tactical and I bet we’ll see the odd foot pass also…that boy Pienaar will make a HUGE difference this weekend, he has rugby in his genes.
@Puma (Comment 16) : the only way our kicking game will be bad is when it is done by the Duppies, and they’ll get red carded for theirs…
@FireTheLooser (Comment 18) : For sure, I rate Pienaar a lot. Pleased he will start. Made a difference when he came on to play Saturday. With Rory taking the goal kicks
Ruan will be fine there.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 19) : Just hope they don’t let us done this week. We lost that game last week not just cause of the ref but also Bismarck’s brainless shoulder charge that sent him to the sin bin. At such a late stage of the game when we really could not afford at that time to be playing with 14 men.
Think the discipline will be better this week. Plum will have sorted that out. Well hoping.
@Puma (Comment 20) : I’m telling you Puma, Ruan will soon become the best FH we’ve seen in SA….that guy has an imediate impact playing a position he doesnt even enjoy playing…just think how good he will be once he realises that FH is the best position for him…exciting prospect
Okay out of here. Cheers Fires and all, catch up later.
@Puma (Comment 23) : Cheers Pums….see you 2morrow, go well go Sharksss
@FireTheLooser (Comment 3) : Swannie and Waylon might be good defensively, but Swannie is slow and you cannot possibly call either of them creative
@Pokkel (Comment 25) : Kom nou Pokkel….’give him anada chance’
@Pokkel (Comment 25) : I do however think with Ruan at FH they’ll be forced to play with a bit more creativity….anycase, how creative should you be when you can run over the opposition…
@FireTheLooser (Comment 26) : You’re saying it like they have been creative in the past….I’ll give them another chance, but to call those two creative on past performances is pushing it.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 27) : as long as Waylon’crabman’ Murray tries to run over the guy in front of him and not the guy next to him
@Pokkel (Comment 28) : The power of positive thinking….ja I know I might have pushed it a bit far….lets then hope they can conjure up some creativity with Ruan at FH
@FireTheLooser (Comment 30) : Word jy actually betaal om heeldag te blog??
@Pokkel (Comment 31) : wouldn’t that be luverly
@Pokkel (Comment 31) : Nee nog nie, bly jy noem dit nou dat Rob hier is…hahahahah, miskien kan ek my sterre inruil vir geld…
@FireTheLooser (Comment 33) : These stars are worth about as much as Voldy money
@Pokkel (Comment 29) : Waylon seemed to be running in straight line on Saturday, I almost fainted in delight/surprise.
@CapeShark (Comment 35) : I told him to do so
@CapeShark (Comment 35) : I hope is stays like that
…the backline didn’t see much of the ball.
@Charlie (Comment 36) : good stuff!
@Charlie (Comment 36) : Now if u can get thru to Bismark…
Wow Rob, 166 comments on your Jean De Villiers story and not an ounce of proof, good going!
@CapeShark (Comment 40) : thanks. Checking my mail now for the Keo job offer
@robdylan (Comment 41) :
they could swop viljoen with daniller. viljoen looked a bit suspect under high ball.
If these plaas Jappies spread it wide we will have to be flippen WIDE awake.
@robdylan (Comment 41) : I bet if you look hard enough one of their copy + paste journos probably has it up their already…
Now why are the Chiefs still in Durban…do they not know that you’d want to get your lungs use to the ‘vrot Gaupong’ lack of oxygen, that’s why most teams struggle up there, take it from me, the trip up to Gaupong is a dreaded one….lack of oxygen (that why the Nulle are blue)
@FireTheLooser (Comment 46) : as KSA explained to me once there are 2 thoughts:
one you get to altitute early enough to get used to it;
other: you come up in the last minute in hope that you will finish the game before the tiredness sets in
Cb10om
@CapeShark (Comment 39) : Dunno, lights are on, but nobody’s at home
@robdylan (Comment 41) :
