The Blitz Bokke will be playing In the Adelaide tournament this weekend. It is part of The World sevens series.
This side has very good forwards and a flyhalf and sweeper that can step like crazy! The side has brought in a pace man which i think was all the team still needed for balance (Sampie Mastriet). This should show with improved finishing of chances come Friday.
The Squad For Adelaide and Hong Kong-
Mpho Mbiyozo, Chase Minnaar, Frankie Horne, Cecil Afrika, Chris Dry, Kyle Brown (capt), Branco du Preez, Ryno Benjamin, Hoffman Maritz, JW Jonker, Sampie Mastriet, Steven Hunt.
The Best starting line-up available should look like this-
Forwards- Frankie horne, Kyle Brown (C), Chase Minnaar\Mpho Mbiyozo- Powerful compared to other sides in the series.
Flyhalf- Cecil Afrika, he is quick, has vision and has a solid step.
Sweeper- Branco Du preez, From Harmony academy which is known for developing great sevens players. He is one for the future. He also played Bulls U19 at Flyhalf. (Might also have done for U21?)
Centre- Ryno Benjamin, fast, strong and can take the gaps.
Wing- I would pick Sampie Mastriet over Steven Hunt. Sampie weighs around 6-7 kilograms more, plus has the added advantage of being faster than Hunt. Update- Hunt injured his knee first minute of our first game, should be out. Expect Sampie to cover his position very well.
Game Times-
Friday- 09:52 SA time against Japan
Saturday- 6:17 against France and then 10:34 V Samoa. Games to be Televised SuperSport.
Will add fixtures and times for sunday after pool rounds are over.
Weather forcast is Dry so it should be worth the watch. Gooo Blitz Bokke!!

Should be Good to watch these games and beat everyone on Aussie soil.
Wish them all the luck
Good to see Kyle Brown awarded the captaincy!!!
Oh nice…
FT score South Africa 40 – Japan 0
Good win against Japan. Steven Hunt injured his knee. I see as good thing, cause started ahead of mastriet, but when mastriet came on to replace him, mastriet scored a try 3 out of the 4 times he touched the ball! At least the better player will get his chance.
“The side has brought in a pace man which i think was all the team still needed for balance (Sampie Mastriet). This should show with improved finishing of chances come Friday” Scored three tries…thats what i am talking about!!!
When is the next Blitz game?
Only problem with Benjamin is he’s a selfish player, glory seeker. Only works when your scoring tries.
@FireTheLooser (Comment 7) :
Saturday- 6:17 against France and then 10:34 V Samoa.
The finals, quarters and semis will be quite early sunday Morning, if we make the final it should be around 9-10 in the morning. Might get up early to watch semis.
