Patrick Lambie has been named at fulback in the Sharks team to face the Highlanders this weekend.
Stefan Terblanche moves to right wing in place of Odwa Ndungane while the Du Plessis brothers enjoy a rare start together. John Smit has been benched with Johann Muller assuming the captaincy this week.
A further change sees Jean Deysel start at flank in place of Willem Alberts.
Full team to follow

Or check jjr’s post
Rob, you can trash my post if you want, we don’t want to see double. I like the team, good to see Pat at the back. Stef kicking has been poor,but his running has been better than Odwa anyway, so wing is quite good. John on bench? We will see how the team performs. Main reason must be so that he can cover both sides of the scrum after Deons injury. Herbst will probably be in the side next week i guess. I wish Mvovo also could have a go. Jp has been quiet these days. Deysel!!!! Great to see the Bounce king Back!
@robdylan (Comment 1) : How good is he ….but isn’t he a fly half.
Lambie played SA Schools fullback 2 years in a row. A MHS lad. Also played fullback for the u21′s last year. Kicks for poles too. Top point scorer last year I think.
@Hertford Highlander (Comment 3) : Went to school with him, started as a fly then moved to fullback last two years of high school to accomodate Guy Cronje who is currently injured. He is very good and solid at fullback. His goal kicking is also very good. Hardly misses a tackle.
@JJR (Comment 5) : He may be required to make a few…
He sounds very like our Robbie Robinson …who has played all the same age grades i think ..but he has been backed at Fly half….interesting teams ….two more sleeps
@Hertford Highlander (Comment 6) : Will be interesting ,Chat later, will put a thread on weather forecast for Sports events this weekend, tomorrow. I want a dry game.
@JJR (Comment 7) : Didn’t you say it was going to be wet ….don’t think it will make much difference, team will still play the same way !
@JJR (Comment 7) : no a wet game that is how we will beat them Rain is forcast for sat night their time
Lambie 1.77m and 92 kg’s according to Sharks website. Bigger than I thought. Seems too heavy for 1.77m though. I wonder how accurate these figures are?
Well done mr Lambie
Oupa used to be a wing, played for the Bokke there, might be interesting
well done Lambie everybody was waiting for this go and make us proud and have fun
@Pokkel (Comment 10) : No way he’s 92kg. Saw him at Newlands for the warm up game and he’s a lightie. Needs a bit of Percy’s magic gym juice…
@Pokkel (Comment 10) : Robinson 1.81m 84kg, Hobbs 1.87m 90kg, Lynn 1.82m 92kg and out of interest McIntosh 1.92m 129kg…..so if Lambie is only 1.77m tall
Letgo will understand…she will find out
Lambie deserves his start. I am glad to see Terblanche on the wing, it’s a good way to have some experience at the back with Lambie. I also reckon Terblanche is a better wing than Odwa.
@lostfish (Comment 15) : Anyone’s a better wing than a guy who can’t outrun a prop!
@CapeShark (Comment 16) : That is so true!!!
@CapeShark (Comment 13) : I also have my doubts
