Stormers stalwars Joe Pieterson and Wicus Blaauw will miss the overseas tour.
Joe Pietersen’s injury is not as simple as first appeared and Wicus Blaauw has a fractured hand.Lock Adriaan Fondse who just returned from long term injury makes the touring squad as well as Argentine prop Eusebio Guinazo.
In the backs Fabian Juries and the young Tim Whitehead will also make the flight.
Stormers’ touring squad:
Schalk Burger (c), Gio Aplon, Sireli Naqelevuki, Bryan Habana, Jaque Fourie, Juan de Jongh, Frikkie Welsh, Fabian Juries, Tim Whitehead, Peter Grant, Willem de Waal, Dewaldt Duvenage, Ricky Januarie, Duane Vermeulen, Francois Louw, Pieter Louw, Andries Bekker, Anton van Zyl, Adriaan Fondse, De Kock Steenkamp, Brok Harris, Eusebio Guinazu, Tiaan Liebenberg, Deon Fourie, JC Kritzinger, JD Moller.

@molly (Comment 1) : Not at all
oh dear… that’s bad news for you guys! Pietersen and Blaauw have both been superb.
So who will start at fullback and prop now? Moller at 1? And fullback? Aplon?
NOT MOLLER!!!!!! He gives away at least 1 penalty for every 2 scrums he’s in.
Aplon at the back is probably best, no one else jumps out, Fabian Juries maybe.
They can always take a massive chance and move Fourie there, but he had a blinder at 13 and has been brilliant there.
@robdylan (Comment 3) : I think Aplon will move to 15 and they will have JC Kritzinger starting at 1.
@robdylan (Comment 3) :
How the hell did JD Moller make the squad??
That oke is plain useless!!
Sh%%%t
@provincejoulekkading (Comment 5) :
Agree!!
As long as De Waal aint in the side I’m happy!!
So this means Grant to kick at goal??
Thats really bad news for the Stormers. Joe P was in fine form. All round he is a better player than Aplon. Taller too
When will Jantjies be back?
grant or duvenage to kick at goal
Oh right. Forgot about Kritzinger. All round a far better option than Moller
Aplon was great at FB. Wont be a problem there. Blaauw is a huge loss though.
Just read on rugby365 that Fourie du Preez has injured his ankle in training. Wont start this Saturday will be Hougaard.
Phew!!!!! Injuries are coming fast now to our Bok players. Really hope the Sharks can get through the rest of the S14 without any more injuries. We one team that don’t need it as we need to start winning more games. More injuries will set us back.
No concerns with Blaauw staying home but Pietersen is in my damn Starting XV FL team.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 14) : I was just think that….. will affect a few sides….how bad is his injury….season ending ?
I have taken a similar blow with George Smith …damnit !
@wpw (Comment 6) : This is not good news…. Time to front up…they can do it i’m sure……….. or am i ?
@wpw (Comment 6) : Aplon…………… how good is he really ? Especially when i read no one in SA rates Giteau !
@KSA Shark © (Comment 14) : Next week is the big week on LMS
Sharks v Reds & Blues v Bulls : pick a winner there and you may go close to having a little cup above your profile pic !
O yeah of little faith. All will be well.
@Hertford Highlander (Comment 18) : haha! I’ll be avoiding both like the plague. I have Stormers available for next week. Thank you for being so shit, Western Force! Let’s just hope they can beat the Lions
@robdylan (Comment 20) : Dangerous call…..that will become apparent after the weekend !
I’m only jealous i don’t have the Stormers available !
So what do i do back the Sharks or Reds or Bulls….or you get the picture !
@Hertford Highlander (Comment 21) : next week? Hmmm…. Sharks-Reds is one to avoid. I would back the Blues to roll the Bulls in Auckland. Logic dictates that the Bulls can’t possibly win all four matches on tour and the Blues game is the one they are probably most likely to lose.
