Rumours that CJ van der Linde will be propping for the Stormers after the Currie Cup seem to be picking up some steam.
A blogger on this site recently made a comment about CJ’s immenent move to Cape Town but he was quickly corrected by wpw, myself and a few other posters as it was made public that van der Linde had just signed a contract for the Cheetahs and would be joining them for the upcoming Currie Cup season.
It appears that his contract with the Cheetahs is for the duration of the Currie Cup only and after that he will be taking up a Super rugby contract with the Cape franchise.According to a report on Keo.co.za vd Linde will be making a statement about the move within the next few weeks.
In my opini0n this is a decent signing as CJ can prop at both loosehead and tighthead but I really hope that The Stormers have not used up too big a chunk of their home semi final takings to get this signature. While CJ can play tighthead I really don’t think he does it very well.
It’s also reported that Jean De Villiers will indeed be returning to Cape Town but more on that as it develops.Tweet
