SA Rugby have named a revised team to face Wales on Saturday and Butch James has been withdrawn, along with Andries Bekker.
James is not allowed to play as the result of a ruling by Premier Rugby. Bekker suffered an injury in the Super 14 final this weekend.
Victor Matfield and Juan de Jongh replace the two players in the starting lineup, with Zane Kirchner coming onto the bench.

no man ! is Butch out AGAIN
This is actually a very very good team!!
I hope we thrash the Welsh!!
it’s actually a very nice team. there will be no excuses if it does not go well
Bunch of wets!!!
Oh and congrats to all the n00bs making their debuts!!
Well done to Aplon, De Jongh, Hargo, Louw and Basson!!
Butch has gone in and out more than a porn actor.
@SandTiger (Comment 4) : what’s the definition of “wet”
Not a bad team but have my reserves about Odwa.
Actually not a bad looking team. I was pondering who I should pick on Superbru….but I think this team could take it.
@Farlington (Comment 8) : I agree we have a lot of talented wingers is SA and Odwa wouldn’t have been my first choice either. Luckily Shane Williams isn’t playing.
What happened to Nokwe? Injured as well?
@rekinek (Comment 7) : is that tonsil that keeps wetting his pants about the smallest thing.
@Original Pierre (Comment 11) : Yup – out for the rest of the season i think – Shoulder injury i think. I stand to be corrected.
sHARKS Q: wHO WILL BE THE SHARKS WINGS?
Ndungane OR Mapoe?
MAPOE GETS MY VOTE!!!
@BoerSeun (Comment 15) : Mvovo and Mapoe. What a combo those two could be
@robdylan (Comment 16) : Agreed… what a deadly dark wing duo!
@robdylan (Comment 16) :
JP??
@wpw (Comment 18) : JP might be with the Boks during the CC…how long is he out for anyway?
That T5 looks mean
@wpw (Comment 18) : oh crap… always forget about him, don’t I?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Ok I might be a bit biased when saying this but I really feel for guys like Deysel and Alberts. Man those two were some of the standout players for the Sharks this year and they make one mean combo. But then again; loosies is not really a problem in SA now are they?
I think Steyn should have started at 12. de Jongh is going to have a tough day at the office with Roberts running at him.
@Pokkel (Comment 10) : Odwa is barely good enough to play at Currie Cup level. He just doesn’t have the pace any longer and he makes way too many mistakes. How many times has he dropped the ball or knocked on AT THE TRYLINE??
@lostfish (Comment 25) : ah man… I pulled out what little remaining hair I have every time he did that. Butchered 3-4 tries this season alone
@SandTiger (Comment 12) :
@rekinek (Comment 7) :
Wet, tonsil. MAN you must be a Shark in his forties. i haven’t heard those phrases for ages.
@lostfish (Comment 25) : not the man he was. granted though – wings had little ball to speak of, if not Goode then Swannie keeping it or Stef kicking it
@KSA Shark © (Comment 27) :
so this takes me out of the forties category
@
robdylan (Comment 26) : I think its official now..you have NONE left after the season
@KSA Shark © (Comment 27) : I resent that… I think…
I’m a healthy 31 thank you very much
But good phrases die hard
AND its probably the nicest, squeeky cleeanest things I can type
@SandTiger (Comment 31) :
Now you’re being a wet blanket.
Stop behaving like a tonsil.
Heard those a lot when I was growing up.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 33) : then you can’t be THAT old…
@SandTiger (Comment 34) : shhhhhh! We DON’T talk about that …
@SandTiger (Comment 34) :
41 two weeks ago.
I’m a bullet
i’ll leave you in peace for a while – cheeerio
Rookie of the Season: Patrick Lambie (Sharks). As that famous line in the 80s song says: ‘The future’s so bright I gotta wear shades.’
Just PLEASE leave him at Fullback.
One for the Stormers.
Referee of the Tournament: Craig Joubert (South Africa).
Despite what the Stormers had to say, he was chosen for the Final by the people who best know how to judge referees.
Have to love that.
@robdylan (Comment 26) : I scared my pets every time that happened…
Best team: The Bulls. For their depth, consistency and experience – which placed them clearly above all other teams.
Worst team: The Johannesburg-based Lions. Can a team actually get worse and more disinterested than this winless bunch, who broke every conceivable negative record? Most points and tries conceded, most consecutive defeats…
===================
I Agree wholeheartedly with both these awards.
Comeback of the Year: Barend Pieterse (Cheetahs). From assistant coach to becoming a first-choice flank/lock.
==================================
IO hope that was tongue in cheek
Biggest flops: Ashley Johnson (Cheetahs), Carlos Spencer and Earl Rose (Lions). No comment needed.
===================================
I hope that was NOT tongue in cheek
@KSA Shark © (Comment 42) : I saw that article too… pretty funny
15 – JPP
14 – Mvovo
11 – Mapoe
Deysel and Alberts are very unlucky.
Stefan too. Not.
Poor Butchie in and then out but will miss him he is a great player even if is oupa no2 sorry butch in the old end if you stayed with the sharks then in the team you would of been and my maybe Sharks would of had the S14 or a few places up
Great team but if i was the one to chose then i would of tested Lambie and the Mvovo evenif it was for a while and i think they would of done quite well and just maybe in the WC 2011 but thats me
