West Indies, who opted to bat in the fifth and final ODI in Trinidad, dropped Sulieman Benn from the line-up while resting seamer Ravi Rampaul, who sustained a knee injury. Benn was picked in the 14-man squad for the final game after being fined his entire match fee following the fourth ODI in Dominica, where he was ordered off the field by Chris Gayle for disobeying instructions. West Indies have replaced him with batsman Narsingh Deonarine and will be boosted by the return of Jerome Taylor, who missed the previous game due to a niggle.
South Africa, aiming for a clean sweep, have rested their most successful bowler in this series, Morne Morkel, while David Miller is out due to an ankle injury. Mark Boucher returns to the playing XI, but will not keep wicket, and so does left-arm spinner Roelof van der Merwe.
