The Lions have signed lock/loose-forward Trevor Hall from french club Biarritz Olympique. The player was looking for a year’s extension on his contract which Biarritz did not give and the 31-year old subsequently signed a 3-year contract with the Lions.
Hall returns to the Lions where he last played for the Lions (and the Cats) in 2006 before leaving for the french club.
Is this a good deal for the Lions or is it just another desperate signing? I guess time will tell.

Lol!
imagine how good he is going to be at 34
1 step forward…3 steps backwards
then again i suppose he does still bolster their ranks
@war1 (Comment 2) : Yeah, just imagine! Possibly in Rudi Keil’s league
@Greg (Comment 5) : then the lions may really stand a chance in the vodacom cup!!
oh well good for them
just had a thought what happenes if the snoils really win this on
hope they pic up in the game
We let Jaco Pretorius go 2 years ago because we didn’t want to give him a 3-year contract….this does not make sense at all…
@war1 (Comment 6) : A competition which we have won, more than once, something the sharks have never done
@Greg (Comment 9) : oh, do they even keep records on that?
@walter van Lions World (Comment 8) : Walter, and anything that our esteemed leader Manie has done in recent times makes any sense?
@war1 (Comment 10) : You brought up the Vodacom Cup, not me
@Greg (Comment 5) :
Keil doesnt have a contract with the Sharks. Only gets paid match fees. I must say, that this arrangement by the Sharks management is earning points in my book. But to contract a player who is 31, for three years, after his club didnt want him anymore, is seriously a clutching at straws. Likewise, 1 step forward, 3 steps back.
@Greg (Comment 12) : fair enough
@war1 (Comment 10) :
@Greg (Comment 12) : was reading through that long list of what is a good Lion supporter and my to much for me to handle so if i don’t go to games etc me not a good supporter or how does it work
@war1 (Comment 14) : wounldn’t it be great to see the LIONS up in the front again the good old days when they won the CC
is it just me or has SW gone on a strike again
its taking years to get from one post to another
or who is jinxing again
seems ok now
must be some jinxing and [email protected]
or is it the friday thing
@chaz (Comment 17) : what kind of Sharks supporter are you anyway?
Of course it wouldn’t be great. It would be sickening.
@robdylan (Comment 20) :
ok you got me i was just testing to see if anyone was paying attention to what i said and got what i was looking for
I thought they got a STAR back
These Lions have no pride anymore
they are very desperite
This is totally pathetic, but this is proof that Manie has lost the plot, Dick is telling them what to do, and they will end up in the same situation as when Loffie was there. They have given him total control, and that is the biggest mistake they can ever make. But I believe they are trying to convince the Lions websites to be positive. Manie you are a disgrace.
Chaz, that was sneaky
Lions have nothing to be positive about. The sooner they stop deluuding themselves and take an honest look at the situation, the sooner they can start to fix it
Stupid blackberry. Deluuding is not really a word
@robdylan (Comment 25) :
Whenever I feel wretched as a Sharks fan, I can depend on the Lions to cheer me up.
@Big Fish (Comment 29) : and yet the sharks seem intent on buying the entire Lions team
Wierd.
@robdylan (Comment 27) : Yup, posting by Blackberry is a bit of an Earl!
@Pablo Dinero (Comment 30) : hey thats
a great idea maak al die snoils sharkies eeeeaaaahhhhh

o Afternoon
@chaz (Comment 32) : @robdylan (Comment 26) : at least this guy is not andy goode! Andy Goode = the [email protected] signing of an overseas player by a south african franchise, even naqelevuki doesn’t come close because the 2nd [email protected] signing of a foreign player still is by the sharks, can anyone say Epi Taione?
@Megatron (Comment 33) :
Well you have the two worst right on, but I would have to reverse the order I’m afraid, Epi Taione was by far the worst signing, much worse than Goode.
@Dancing Bear (Comment 34) : With Goode you had a smattering of positives amongst a sea of negatives. With Epi you just had one negative after another, contributed absolutely nothing to the Sharks, and hurt their ambitions that season in many ways. Goode you can almost justify.
Anyone remember Nathan Spooner?
Another slow day on Sharksworld… when will the bluddy CC start already!!!
@Megatron (Comment 33) :
Carlos Spencer must be a close second.
1) Epi Taione
2) Spencer
3) Goode (At least the Sharks won a few Games with the help of Goode.
@CS (Comment 37) :
It’s a Sunday dude. Most Sundays are slow.
