Rudolf Straeuli has confirmed to News24 that Jacques-Louis Potgieter has signed a contract with the Sharks and will represent them in the 2011 Super 15.
The former Affies pupil is expected to start for the Blue Bulls at flyhalf this weekend, ironically against his new team mates. Potgieter rejoined the Bulls on a one-year deal at the start of the season, after spending a number of years with the Free State Cheetahs.
His desire to secure a berth in the Springboks World Cup squad next year sees him keen to move out of the shadow of incumbent Bulls and Bok flyhalf Morne Steyn, hence his decision to throw in his lot with the Sharks.
I hope they put him through a LONG, tough initiation ceremony to make him pay for THAT drop goal!
Not to mention the try he scored against us in the Super 14.

Still a great signing, and as you said Rob, competition can only be a good thing.
This is a good signing rudolf gets things ryt from tym to tym .but this having rugby directors must be causing a clusterf#@k because it seems like rudolf is getting the players he wants not the players plumtree needs to execute his game plan really wonder how this dynamic works that and plumtree doesn,t seem to be a great manager or visionary

For the S14 that is. Dumond is a more than capable CC flyhalf and meyer….. well he has never won a game in a sharks jersey has he?
Hell, with that drop goal vision in my mind, I am gonna REALLY find it hard to accept the guy as “one of the boys” !
