Allister Coetzee has announced his 22 man team to take on the Mighty Fortuner 4×4′s (read: Pumas) at Newlands this coming Vrydag aand.

The side has been bolstered by the return of Springbok players Juan De Jongh (replacing Tim Whitehead) and Gio Aplon (replacing Fabian Juries)  as well as some youthful exuberance in the form of winger JJ Engelbrecht (reminds me of a young Slaptjips) and SA U20 scrumhalf Louis Schreuder who take their places on the bench.

Deon Fourie has been ruled out due to a gevaarlike tackle made by some over eager Leopards player which means Tiaan Liebenberg starts at hooker and Splinters Shimange takes up his rightful place on the wood.

Dewald Duvenage gets a much needed rest and his spot goes to the promising Maties scrumhalf Conrad Hoffman.

Here ARE ze span to knock the 4×4′s back to Kimberley, I mean Witbank… or wherever they come from:

15.          Conrad Jantjes
14.          Gio Aplon
13.          Juan De Jong
12.          Paul Bosch
11.          Frikkie Welsh
10.          Willem de Waal
9.            Conrad Hoffmann
8.            Duane Vermeulen
7.            Rynardt Elstadt
6.            Pieter Louw
5.            Anton van Zyl (Captain)
4.            Adriaan Fondse
3.            Brok Harris
2.            Tiaan Liebenberg
1.            JD Moller

Reserves:

16.          Hanyani Shimange
17.          JC Kritzinger
18.          Martin Muller
19.          Pieter Myburgh
20.          Louis Schreuder
21.          Lionel Cronje
22.          JJ Engelbrecht

Shimange has spent more time on the wood than Paris Hilton.

  • @wpw (Comment 1) :

With De Jong playing outside centre do you think he (WP Coach) has been asked to play him there to see if he could front for the Boks at 13.

Surely it would be suicide playing him at 13 (out of position)against the AB’s in Seweto.

But then again who is next in line to play at 13 behind TWG13 :?: :?: :?:

  • Glad they giving Flo a break, also Happy Juan is getting some gametime, a good game could well secure 12 for the Boks.

  • @Hertford Highlander (Comment 4) : He is a 13, The Stormers played him out of position all season at 12 – to allow the Former greatest 13 in the world to play in his position.

He played 12 for the first time in this year’s S14.

  • @Oubaas2009 (Comment 42) : Come to think of it Jantjies and Kirchner play identical games.

Catch the ball, run 5m, and kick a up ‘n under. Riaan Viljoen keeps ball in hand a lot more and is a real attacking option.

  • @Oubaas2009 (Comment 42) : Agree, ironically Zane was one of the better backs through-out the tour.

Connie needs a lot more game time before he can be considered for the Boks – its been close to a year.

The reality is Div and Frans need to settle their dogey and get on the same team sheet.

Haven’t seen enough of Viljoen to comment.

I say fire Coetzee, he obviously doesn’t know what he’s doing… and doesn’t realise there’s more at play here than what he realises (ie. MY FL TEAM!!!)
