Welcome to the very first instalment of the Sharksworld/Marshalls World Of Sport weekend betting guide, brought to you by myself and Hertford Highlander.
We would love you guys to interact and give us some feedback and tell us what you want us to comment about. So please do not be shy!
So here we go:
Bet the farm:
This, in my opinion, is the best bet of the weekend rugby, it is not necessarily the bet that will make you the most money, but it is a sure thing.
The Bulls to beat the Lions by 16 points or more – 15/10
Take a chance:
This bet is no sure thing, but could easily happen.
The Pumas to lose to WP by less than 26 points – 15/10
ITM bet of the weekend:
Waikato v Bay of Plenty
This could be a really close match and could well follow the upsetting of Taranaki by Northland.
Waikato will be installed as favourites by the bookies so BOP will start with a points handicap.
HH’s ‘Tip from Down Under’
BOP with the handicap to win.
Tri Nations bet of the weekend:
New Zealand to win by more than 16 points – 16/10
Hail Mary:
Now this aint for the faint hearted!! This is what I also like to refer to as the stress bet, where you cannot watch the rugby as you are stressing so much over the result. But for those who like to take the outside bet.. here goes:
NZ to beat Australia
Griquas by more than 16 points over Leopards
Sharks to beat the Cheetahs
Bulls to beat Lions by more than 12 points
All the above together will get you 16/1
That’s it for week 1, if you would like to see any other sporting events covered, just drop me an email – Richard@sharksworld.co.za
PS – For those interested in the July, my punt for the weekend is for 10. River Jetez to beat the field in the Vodacom Durban July.
Yours in Punting
Rich and HH

Think River Jetez will do it 2 years in a row?
I see I can get 3.1 odds for the Bulls to win by more than 10 coupled with a FS win tomorrow . . .
But all those boks on the bench worries me . . .
@Original Pierre (Comment 1) : River Jetez didn’t win the July last year?
I was wanting to ask about the July…
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 2) : I thought she did sorry my mistake!
@Original Pierre (Comment 4) : She won the J&B Met at the beginning of the year. She ran 4th at last year’s July.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 5) : So that`s why her name sounds familiar thanx Rich!
I see Irish Flame is favourite at 4 odds at the moment?
But surely you can never trust ” donkies” ! Isn`t it rigged like wwf ? ( or a bulls match starring M Jonker? sorry Lions! )
The July is certainly not rigged.
I think there might be ome rigging in some racing, but not in the most prestigous race in South Africa..
I heard this mornin there is a horse called Goat @ 66 to 1 – is that a joke??
@Ice (Comment 8) : Not at all Ice..
There is a horse called Goat.. Not a very good chance up against these horses, but a good filly in other company.
Hey I just realised…I have no interest in horse racing. It’s very rare for me to say that about anything even kinda related to sport.
I`m gonna follow Rich`s suggestion with River Jetez tomorrow . .
But isn`t the race the same time as the Sharks match?
@Original Pierre (Comment 11) :
You can always have Rich sms you who won the July!
@Original Pierre (Comment 11) : Yeah.. the main race is at 16h20
@Ice (Comment 12) : @Richard Ferguson (Comment 13) : I`m hoping by the time those donkies line up the sharks would have secured the bonus point already!
@Original Pierre (Comment 14) : Now thats wishful, yet very positive, thinking..
Im definitely tuning into the July over watching the rugby for those 5 minutes..
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 15) :
5 minutes??? Are horses THAT slow nowadays?? In my times I think they did it in just over a minute or so…
I would say the Wp to win by less than 26 is the sure thing.
WP will bring on the youngsters once the game is in the bag and the PD will not be that great at the end.
@Ice (Comment 16) : Lol.. The 5 minutes is for watching them load, run 2,2km and maybe see the celebrations afterwards as well..
NZ to beat Australia
Griquas by more than 16 points over Leopards
Sharks to beat the Cheetahs
Bulls to beat Lions by more than 12 points
Only the Sharks make that a risky proposition IMO.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 17) : Im with you, I’ve already backed that into my July horse as a small double..
@KSA Shark © (Comment 19) : It doesn’t happen very often, (well happen to me anyway) that one can correctly predict the outcome of more than 4 different games.
If I were to be a man to bet against the Sharks (which I don’t like doing) I would have taken that multiple with the Cheetahs instead of the Sharks
