Pat Lambie has been named as the Currie Cup player of the month while Alistair Coetzee has been named as coach of the month.
Lambie has performed well over the first month of this year’s competition, playing in three different positions and has contributed 36 points to the cause of the Sharks which puts him 5th on the points scorers list. He paid tribute to his teammates after receiving his award
Sharksworld would like to congratulate Pat Lambie on his award and hope that he will continue his form and contribution to the Sharks’ cause.

Well done Lambie…
Congrats Laaitie
Oh and for all the stirrers, I have seen a photo of Lambie with his award (he was obviously flying to Cape Town to receive it) with two healthy arms! So, maybe the truck that ran over his arm was a little toy
well done Patto!
congrats Lambie!! has been a pleasure watching you in the few games that have been screened here in london!!
@war1 (Comment 3) :
Well deserved tho i stil tink u need 2 work on yr goalkicking a little bit harder, but great 2 c ya playing week in & week out. sum exciting things happening at The Sharks right now!!!
Well done lambie fully deserved! Hope 2 c u playing in da black and white 4 many years 2 come!
Fantastic talent
WP should check if he has a legit contract!!
@wpw (Comment 10) :
DUDE!!!!!!!!!! He is 19 not 91!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WP won’t be interested in him for at least another 20 years.
Hehe
How old is Oom Stef again??
@wpw (Comment 12) :
Almost old enough to be approached by Rassie.
@The Sharks Sharkie (Comment 7) : How do you know how hard he works on his goal kicking at the moment?
It’s early days dude.
I saw on the news, when they received their trophies, that Coetzee was giving a sinister smile towards Lambie, and Lambie had this shocked and fearfull look on his face because of that.
I’m sure it had something to do with WP trying to poach Lambie and he just couldn’t believe it.
@war1 (Comment 3) : Hey W1, do you know more about Lambie and the protective gear he wears on the arm, preventitive or nursing? The gear he’s using has changed a coupla times now, and this one he is currently wearing seems real cumbersome?
@Jarson (Comment 15) : Being a Michaelhouse boy and being under the wing of management, I think Lambie is secure at The Tank… The Union is managing him and his family well, and I am impressed. We have learnt our lessons it seems and I am glad for it. Frans was a loss, but if he made himself available for SA union selections, I would hope he’d go to CT. (there are many reasons for that) – Ruan’s loss is not too major, as I believe we have players with bigger heart and more competitive aggro in them than Ruan, sure, he can shift a game, but he is management intensive and not suited to the Shark system… You’ve read Smit’s auto-bio?
I think people overeact to the trades we’ve made ITO BJ Botha, Butch James, Johann Muller, Frans Steyn etc… (general statement)
@DarkDestroyer (Comment 16) : Have a look at the pic of him on http://www.sharksrugby.co.za with his award, those arms look fine, so I’m guessing it’s preventative maybe protecting an old injury.
@Jarson (Comment 15) : you don’t think you might be overreacting?
@war1 (Comment 19) : @DarkDestroyer (Comment 17) : Hehehe!
I was just kidding! Adding fuel to wpw and ksa’s jokes earlier
Darkdestroyer, I’m with you completely. There’s this fanatical paranoia that takes grip every time the sharks let a player go. It’s like people think professioanlism can only go one way! If it wasn’t for getting rid of Frans and co, we might never even have realised what we have in Lambie
Well done Lambie…just don’t get a big head.
I see Kanko has been replaced by Morne Steyn on Marshalls
@Pokkel (Comment 23) : Yeah.. not a fan of that sight hey..
@Jarson (Comment 20) :
If I understand the new Castle Lager TVC currently flighting, I get the impression that SAB are going to be backing Cricket, Football and Rugby – just like the good ol’ days, I approve and think it is a huge investment for SA sports & culture, I love Windhoek, but almost feel compelled to replace it with ol’ Charles… Legendary commitment to SA. Cheers!
@DarkDestroyer (Comment 26) : Subbing Windhoek for Castle? NOOOOOO!!!!
The Sharks don’t like pictures of their players appearing on other websites.
@robdylan (Comment 28) : I still get a pic of Waylon Murray on my login page…
Well done young Pat! Not only are you a very talented rugby player, but your respect and humility off the field is a breath of fresh air. Keep it up!
It is so awesome to be able to see Lambie play, he really has the gift of playing rugby!!!
@rhineshark (Comment 27) : Only out of principle for what Castle (SAB) does for sports in SA… But Windhoek is my first choice beer, and they also support The Sharks – geeze this is a diabolical issue…
truth really kills imagination. i was really enjoying the wild ideas as to why lambie was flying around midweek. oh well now to start some other rumours.
