Punter’s Pick of the weekend

Take a look at what we found for you this week.

Results from last week:

Last week had a few surprising results and some that were well and truly expected. The handicap on our Bet the Farm came in as the Bulls beat the Lions by 14 points, making that a winner!!

The Take a Chance bet really was an outside bet, and we lost that one by quite some margin as WP beat the Pumas comprehensively.

HH’s ITM bet of the weekend came in nicely as the Bay of Plenty team lost by only 2 points. Well done HH for spotting that.

In the Tri Nations, we were spot on as well with NZ hammering Australia by more than the handicap of 16 points.

The surprise of the weekend was that the Hail Mary bet was only out one leg, which was oh so close to a fantastic result!! Griquas let us down against the Leopards by winning by 14 and not by the required 17 points.

In summary, if you bet R100 on each of our bets, you would have spent R500 and collected R710 on Monday morning. A successful weekend at the end of it all.

On to this weekend:

Bet the farm:

There are quite a few games this weekend that you could bet the farm, but my ultimate bet is:

New Zealand to beat Australia by more than 12 points – 7/10

Take a chance:

Take a chance this week is brought to you by HH, who has suggested that you bet that there will be a card shown at some point during the NZ vs Australia game – 17/10

ITM bet of the weekend:

Southland to beat Otago

Auckland to beat Waikato

Tri Nations bet of the weekend:

Our suggestion is that you bet that the second half would be the highest scoring half at odds of 7/10

Currie Cup bet of the weekend:

Western Province to beat Griquas by more than 5 points – 7/10

Soccer bet of the Weekend:

Man Utd are playing Chelsea in the Community Shield this weekend, and my best bet in that game is for a draw after 90 minutes – 22/10

Hail Mary:

NZ to beat Australia by 12 points – 7/10
WP to beat Griquas by 5 points – 7/10
Bulls to beat Leopards by 30 points – 7/10
Sharks to beat Lions by 13 points – 7/10
Pumas to lose by less than 7 points to the Cheetahs – 1/1

Grand total – 15/1

  • Richard: I got 100% in my predictions for Superbru last weekend. What kind of odds does one get for guessing 4 results?

  • @Baldrick (Comment 4) : It really depends on the games and whether you take the team to win on handicap..

For instance, last week the sharks odds were quite good, you would prob have gotten around 3/1 for all 4 games without having to win on a handicap.

If you get all four games on handicap as well, you can easily get 10/1

Have to agree though, betting wise I haven`t had a good start. NZ let me down already!

One of these days I won`t be able to watch any sport if I haven`t got a ” stake ” in the result . . .

Well there’s 5 of you on joint 1st place points but it seems as if SB do the positioning on how far you werte from the actual scores even if you didn’t get a point for it. So you just need a 0.01 somewhere to jump back to the top. ;-)

Lost a lot of money this weekend.. Luckily though, I can’t bet on the ITM, otherwise it would have been a lot more money down the drain!!
