The Sharks under 21 side to face the Leopards shows a number of changes to the one that recorded a good win against the Lions last weekend. Baby Bok loose forward Lubabalo Mthembu, who scored three tries off the bench last week, will start at number 8 this week.
The tight 5 is unchanged, though, as tighthead prop Frans Hanekom continues to deputise for the injured Julian Redelinghuys. Outside of Hanekom, though, the rest of the heavies are all age-group Boks, with Dale Chadwick, Kyle Cooper and the Marais brothers all having represented their country at under-20 level. Jaco Otto is named at open-side flank, with big Daniel Oijambo handed his first start of the campaign on the blindside flank. The big Kenyan is a former winger and should bring a huge amount of pace to the loose trio.
An injury to former Affies pivot Willie du Plessis sees Guy Cronje reunited with his brother Ross as the starting half-backs. The latter will captain the side. Centres Howard Mnisi and Piet Lindeque are retained, along with the back three of Rosco Speckman, Mark Richards and impressive fullback Wynand Pienaar. Changes on the bench see Kene Okafor brought into the squad for the first time as he covers the second row from the bench. Cameron Dunlop is also back from injury in the number 19 jersey, while the unavailability of du Plessis opens a spot for promising centre Dwayne Jenner, who featured for the Sharks in the recent friendly against the Valke, in the match 22.
