A knee injury to regular captain Gary Botha has opened the door for former Pretoria Boys High hooker Henry Bantjes to make his long-awaited Currie Cup debut.
Botha was initially feared to be out for the season after a recurrence of the problem that kept him on the sidelines for three months last season. He will only miss the next month and in Bok hooker Bandise Maku and Bantjes, the Pretoria team will feel they have adequate cover. Derrick Kuün takes over the captaincy from Botha for this weekend’s game against Griquas.
Other changes to the side that faced Western Province see Jaco van der Westhuyzen and Fudge Mabeta come into the starting team.
