Results from last week:

Yet another disastrous weekend for us, and I am seriously considering retirement at the ripe old age of 25.

As everybody knows, the Cheetahs threw away the game (or should I say the Lions just took it), and there went my Bet the Farm. Not to be outdone, the Griquas showed their semi final hopes by coming back against the Pumas and beating them by more than the 11 point handicap I punted. 0 from 2.

HH’s Saturday Treble nearly came through for us, but alas, his Otago side let him down in the last leg of the bet. 0 from 3, this is getting kind of embarrassing now. The soccer bet also let us down, with the opening fixture of the Premiership ending in a dull draw. 0 from 4.

With all the results above going down the tubes, the Hail Mary was never ever ever EVER even looking close like a winner. So let’s recap, 0 from 5.

Moving on, let’s have a look at what’s install this weekend. If you want to win money, take my opinions, and do exactly the opposite!!

Bet the farm:

There has been a lot of talk about this game, and I think there can be only one result. Back the Sharks to beat WP – 1/1

Take a chance:

I reckon the Leopards might just not take a walloping against the Cheetahs tonight, so I would punt the Leopards to lose by less than 31 points – 6/10

Tri-Nation bet of the weekend:

This is a really tough game to call, and I really do not want to put my head on the block here, but after some input from my punting mate we decided to punt that NZ will be half time leaders in this game – 15/20

ITM bet of the weekend:

HH’s bet of the weekend in the ITM Cup this weekend is in the Wellington vs Waikato game. Wellington will be favourite’s, but our man from the long silver cloud reckons it will be a close game, and backs Waikato to lose by less than the handicap.

Soccer bet of the Weekend:
Arsenal play Blackpool on Saturday and the new kids on the block might just pull of an amazing point here. Punt the draw – 3/1

Hail Mary:

Hail Mary’s are not for the faint hearted, and these generally only come through once in a while. Here we go:

Lions to beat the Pumas by more than 12 points – 6/10
Sharks to beat WP – 1/1
Bulls to beat Griquas by more than 12 points – 6/10

Grand total – 5/1

Please scroll over to MARSHALLS to have a flutter on the games, or any other sport you might fancy.

Yours in Punting

Rich and HH

  • Lets see:

Sharks are 3/1 to win the CC at this moment. WP 1.5 and the Bulls amazingly 2.2.

WP seems to be good value here. If they pull of a win tomorrow in the Shark tank those odds will drop. If you want to make a call on CC winner I think today is your last day to get any value.

I haven`t decided on a multiple for the weekend yet though.

I might look at Pumas to beat the handicapp and maybe the Sharks.

  • @Original Pierre (Comment 3) : What odds would one get on Lions into the semis?

  • At last! Found a tempting bet for the weekend!

    NZ – 8.5 @ 1.6. ( NZ to beat the blou bokkies by 9 or more )

I think it`s definately possible since we`re not playing them at Ellis Park.

@Greg (Comment 5) : I just have to say I am not happy with the way you guys treat sharks supporters over at your site. I might not be on SW everyday but I am 100% sure you weren`t subjected to abuse on this site just because you dare to support another team.

You can get the Lions to win the CC at 66 to one. I don`t see odds for the semi`s anywhere.

  • @Original Pierre (Comment 6) : If I offended you, I apologise, was never my intention.
Can’t apologise for any one else, though. I will say though, some people who come on to any supporter site and start to knock that team deserve what they get. When they come to just chat and for a little banter, they deserve to be treated with respect.

66-1 is pretty decent, outside chance of making some money!

  • @Greg (Comment 7) : Greg the point here is I wasn`t knocking the Lions. The only time I ever say anything against them is when they start Earl Rose and then I`m certainly not the only one. But okay granted you weren`t the guilty party.

LMS done, SB done and betting done!
    Roll on 19:00!

Anyone else notice the Bulls game isn`t televised? Another poor showing by Supersport. Surely that would be a nailbiter compared to the other games?

  • @Richard Ferguson (Comment 12) : Arsenal vs Blackpool . . . draw?!

Luckily I stuck to my guns and refused to make a soccer bet this weekend

My NZ bet didn`t come in either though. If only DC was a decent kicker!
